Minimalism and Today's Marketing
Have you seen those new L-shaped,puffy, colourful couches that are supposed to make our homes look simple and comfy, but somehow cost a million dollars? Or those trendy dresses in manikins that just make want to purchase them just because of how they look on those curvy, well defined manikins. Yeah. That’s today’s marketing. It sells “minimalism” by convincing us we need more. More trendy furniture. More neutral-toned decor. More things that will somehow make our lives feel complete even if we never use them. We move into a space and feel pressured to perfect it. Buy the accent chair no one sits on. The designer lamp. The ten decorative pillows. Because marketing says empty space is failure. But most of what we buy? Becomes useless. It drains our money, fills our rooms, and clutters our peace. Marketing today isn’t just about products.
